I offer the best hot dipped tinware available. The pewter/tin thickness on the sheet iron is much thicker than it is on electroplated tin. hot dipped tin means that the tin is applied to the sheet iron molten which leaves a thick protective tin coat on the vulnarable ( to rust) iron.

None the less you have to care for your tinware. If canteens are not used they should be stored spout down  and open so they can dry out properly. Do not use acid fluids like alcohol and fruit juice in the canteens. This will dissolve the tin slowly but surely.
